Chiropractic Care For Back Pain

What parts are considered the lower back??

Between the bottom of your rib cage (or the floor of your pelvis) and the bottom of your spine lies the lower back. In the lumbar region, there are five movable vertebrae. Discs are located between them and when those discs rupture, this is called a herniated disc.

The ligaments and muscles surrounding the vertebrae provide support. Each one is connected by spinal nerves. Providing additional stability and support to the spine, the pelvis aligns with the spine. Your body is made up of these structures, which make it strong and flexible. The spine and nerves are protected while you can move freely.

Why does back pain happen?

Joint strains or abnormal spine function can cause lower back pain. Initially, the pain may seem dull, but it can quickly progress to a severe, constant pain. Sciatica, a type of leg pain, can result from it. Regardless of the cause, lower back pain often feels the same.

The importance of accurate diagnosis cannot be overstated. In addition to poor posture, obesity, and ergonomically incorrect workplaces, back pain is often caused by poor posture, lack of exercise, and poor posture.

One of the most common causes of lower back pain is unnecessary strain from activities like heavy lifting. Facet joints can become inflamed or swollen due to this. Low back pain is often caused by disc injuries and lower back strains. Sacroiliac sprains, piriformis syndrome, and spinal cord stenosis are also causes of low back pain.

Occasionally, severe back pain is accompanied by muscular spasms that restrict movement. As a result, your back is being protected from further injury. A patient may mistakenly think they have a muscular problem, but in fact they are suffering from joint injury.

Treatment must be ruled out before any other cause of back pain can be treated. These factors include fractures, tumors, infections, and infections.

What’s the best way to treat lower back pain?

Taking it easy

If you have back pain, it’s best to avoid heavy lifting, bending over, and other activities that put pressure on your spine. This helps reduce inflammation and keep your muscles from tightening up.

Stretching regularly

Spending time doing yoga or other gentle stretching exercises can help reduce stiffness and improve blood flow.

Taking an anti-inflammatory medication if needed

Anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen or naproxen can help relieve pain and inflammation caused by injury or infection. But they shouldn’t be used long term because they can cause high blood pressure and other health problems.

What if nothing is working for my back pain?

If it’s very serious, please consult with your primary medical physician. If you’ve tried everything and nothing seems to help, we recommend scheduling an appointment with our team. Once your evaluation is complete, we will move forward with a treatment plan specifically for you.
